One of the skills that makers need is the ability to make multiple copies of an object, and the least expensive way to do that is by making a mold and casting your duplicates.  However, trying to learn it by yourself can be a little scary, so we are providing an opportunity for you to learn how to make a successful mold and cast the replica in a safe and low stress environment.

Over the 2 sessions, you will learn:

  • 2 simple methods for making a silicon mold
  • How to decide what kind of mold to make
  • How to prepare your items for molding
  • How to mix resin and silicon
  • How to pour your casting material to get a good casting
  • How to make sure the newly cast item comes out of the mold

The material cost is for us to order the silicon and resin kits.  This is not a demonstration: You will keep the mold and any items you cast!

Because the chemicals we are working with are not food safe, and get very hot, no one under 14 will be allow to participate in this class.

The two sessions build on each other. You will not be allowed to participate in the 2nd part if you have not gone through the first part. The registration cost covers both sessions.

Note: We cannot refund after the class date
