Why just cut on a puny 12" x 18" piece of equipment when you could be working on nearly full sized sheets of plywood!  This Large CNC has been one of our long time projects and is nearly done.  You will find this in our workshop on the ground floor.

We need help assembling the the rack and pinion system and setting up and tuning the software.

Project Leader

Large Vacuum Former

We were donated an incomplete Proto-Form vacuum former.  This unit is large enough to make armor like the Strom Troopers in Star Wars, or a custom panel for your car!  Currently, this resided by the cold metal working area behind the awesome room.

The project needs funding and help assembling from the instructions, and you can contribute to it at

MAME Cabinet Evolution

What could be more fun than having your own arcade machine?  Having one that play LOTS of different games.  We took an old Pig Out cabinet that had been hacked on and converted it into a PC powered dream machine.  Check it out in the MakerSpace room when you us!

We are always looking for people to help maintain and improve the MAME Cabinet, and Andy would like to hand off leadership. Talk to Andy about how you can help!

RFID Door Access

We are Upgrading our door lock system to use RFID cards.  This will allow up to enforce membership access, get betting information about who enters and when, and expand the list of available services without requiring as much staff.

We need people to help develop and/or customize hardware and software so we can get this in place.

Project Leader

FTC Robotics Team

Every Year, we sponsor a team in the FIRST Tech Challenge.  These teenage roboticists design, build, and program a robot to complete the challenge that is presented that season against other teams.

We are looking for Mentors, team members, sponsors, and boosters to help the team grow.  Contact Mark Owens for how to help.

Rebuild the Rostock Max

Our Rostock Max is one of the first, built by Greg Chaney at the See-Me CNC site in Goshen while they were still developing the instructions.  Over time, there have been many improvements to the design, and there are upgrades we would like to make.

Contact Keith about how you can help.  We are looking for donated parts, help with taking it apart and putting it pack together.

Electric Car Conversion

We just had an 2000 Cougar donated to us.  We need to make some repairs to the suspension, but the general idea is to replace the engine and install an electric motor and battery systems.

We are looking for people interested in this conversion, then repainting the vehicle to help promote Cyberia.  There is no project leader, yet, so contact Andy about helping!

We Need a Project Lead

Ham Radio Station

Our Ham Radio group is trying to build up a ground station to communicate via data and voice with space.  OK, not space in general but to listen and talk to satellites and astronauts and cosmonauts and taikonauts.  We have the directable array on our mast, and a desk and some equipment set aside.

We need help selecting and acquiring equipment, tuning the phase of the elements, building a custom controller for the array, and locating or writing software.

Project Leader

Paint Booth

For some projects, a quick spray of paint from a can is good enough.  But others want a nice, dust free environment to put down a good glossy finish.  Preferably without exploding or passing out from the fumes.

This project is just starting, and we will evolve the open painting area into an enclosed positive air pressure area.  We will need materials, fans, and help assembling this, so talk to Andy Hasara

Project Leader

Tool Database

We are setting up a library catalog for people to use and check out tools for use at Cyberia.  People will be able to check out which tools we have, and members can check out and return the tools, or submit a notice of a broken tool.

If you would like to help, contact Joanna and see what you can do.  We will need to gather the information and enter the remaining tools, so expect this to be a long term project.

Project Leader

Jira Integration

We are in the process of setting up Jira for project management, starting with coordinating the Executive group.  Jira allows task and workflow planning to be added to a group project.

Contact Dave about how you can help get this online and available for everyone.

Project Leader

HipChat for Club Cyberia

Hipchat help groups communicate and share ideas.  We hope to use hipchat to replace our forums, and to provide a way to allow members to talk and share ideas and projects without relying on external services that monitor and/or sell your information.

Dave is project leader on this.  Ask him how we can help by setting up the VM and testing the settings and security.
